Why is Route 66 called the "Mother Road" when it only goes halfway across the country?
Route 66 was built between Chicago and Los Angeles. It never crossed the country. It's called the Mother Road it was the first super highway in the nation and has opened the opportunity to travel between the Middle West and American West.
