Can someone please tell me what "AUF DER ALM DR SCHON Es ist means on this mug of beer? Thanks.?
I found this Beer Mug a junk shop for three dollars. It is very beautiful, well made, well painted and glazed fine. West Germany has stamped on the bottom with two different brands I have not been able to identify the use of Internet. One is in a triangle with strange markings on the inside, the other two scratches on almost a perfect straight V. The cover is tin, but after 1900 is its design. I can say that it probably was made from a mold. I wrote the German inscription as it appears in the jar. Any help I can get the identification of the jar or find out what he says would be appreciated. Thank you.
Yes I have "In the mountains is very beautiful. "Nice collect Beer Mugs. That would be a nice Christmas gift for someone.:)" The triangle has a "T" on it? That is a manufacturer of Thewalt stein old and respected in fact. The use of West Germany indicated they are doing after the Berlin Wall was in the 1960s. So which could be as old as 40 years. Good start (to former state) for example! someone who also collects antique jugs. Sounds nice. ** The Top are mugs of German beer and the best are Mettlach. Wonderful, wonderful craftsmanship. Besides a few Metttlach collection (Villeroy & Bach) after stop making pitchers of a fire in 1920 destroyed much of the plans of glazes and other techniques. Please refer to my earlier commitment.
