Is it true that drinking a glass of Ice Cold water burns 200 calories?
I read that if you drink ice water you’ll burn 200 extra calories a day is this true???
Actually you do burn calories when you drink ice water, although 200 is way to much.
Your body has to “make” it room temperature to use, and that requires energy and time. It’s estimated that you burn about 17.5 calories for every 16 ounces! Not a lot, but pretty cool for doing nothing!

FYI, this is actually why it’s important to give someone who is dehyrated room temp. water. Then, the body does not have to waste it’s energy, and the effects are more immediate.
