What is a dry wine?
My husband and I have a dispute about what is a dry wine. I say sweet dry environment, said that means it has a bite. None of us really know anything about wine (obviously) but we are trying different every week.
You got it backwards, and her husband were in left field. Dry is the opposite of sweet. This may be because the grape juice began with a low-sugar, or it may be because more sugar has been fermented into alcohol. Her husband is probably confusing the term with the tannin content, a common "rookie mistake." Next run alcohol you take, ask for a dry riesling from Alsace, halbtrocken (half dry) German Riesling. You'll love both, and education is also worth. If you can fit third, more expensive, Riesling in your budget, you can try a wine (Eiswein Ice-The grapes are picked in the first frost and freeze a little) with dessert.
